My Old Art! part 1

I thought it would be a nice idea to post some of my art form years gone by. I haven’t looked at these in awhile so it was nice to see what I used to draw. These are all done with color pencil and some with pastel as well. Unfortunately I don’t draw on paper very often so I haven’t gotten much better then this, but it’s never to late to pick up my art books and start again. So maybe in the near future you will see more good ol’ paper and pencil art from me as well.

This picture is titled “Archer”.

I drew this in 2003. Used color pencils and watercolors.

Lonely Planet!

Concept: Okay so I started with this idea of a lonely planet where two people are on the opposite sides waiting to find someone to love. And they are both sitting there sadly thinking they are all alone in this planet when actually there is someone waiting for them too. Everyone has probably felt like this sometime in their lives. I know I have. I am now married to the most wonderful person in the world, but it did feel like forever till I found her. For those who are still waiting I say, hold on it will come and it won’t take forever. And when it happens you will only remember that faze as a bad dream.

So first I designed the planet and space for my two people. This was created in photoshop and took roughly 3 hours to finish.

Then I thought that instead of people I should create something cuter to go with cartoonish planet I created. So I went with bunnies. The boy is holding a flower representing him wanting someone to dote upon and care for. The girl is holding a heart waiting for some one to share it with. This part took roughly 5 hours to create.

Next just had to put the two elements together. And there they are waiting and hopping for the day they will find each other. Touchups etc. took about half an hour.

So this was a 8 and a half hour project. Nice! Right!?
